Barcelona is on the verge of reclaiming the Spanish league title after Real Madrid stumbled on Saturday.
Carlo Ancelotti's side could only draw 2-2 at home to Sevilla, coming back from a two-goal deficit despite Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty miss, after Barca opened up a five-point lead with a 2-0 win against Real Sociedad.
Barcelona was due to play third-placed defending champion Atletico Madrid next weekend in the penultimate round of La Liga, and victory would secure the domestic title for the 23rd time.
Coach Luis Enrique turned 45 on Friday, and his team gave him the perfect birthday present as Neymar headed home Lionel Messi's deflected cross six minutes after halftime for the Brazil forward's 33rd goal this season -- and 50th in 87 games since arriving from Santos.

Pele released from Brazilian hospital

Football legend Pele was released Saturday from a hospital following a short stay after prostate surgery, officials at Albert Einstein Hospital said.
Doctors said Friday the soccer great has benign prostatic hyperplasia -- an enlarged prostate -- and he has no cancer or tumors.
The three-time World Cup winner had a procedure called a transurethral resection of the prostate this week. The surgery is done to relieve moderate to severe urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine says on its website the inside part of the prostate gland is removed during the procedure. It says the patient usually remains in the hospital one to three days after the surgery.
Pele, born Edson Arantes do Nascimento, was hospitalized in November at Albert Einstein, where he received kidney dialysis for several days. He was hospitalized for about two weeks.
The 74-year-old icon had one kidney removed during his days as a player, his aide, Jose Fornos Rodrigues, said last year.
Known as "The Black Pearl" and simply "The King," Pele is one of the best known names in all of sports.

Philippe Coutinho: The secret life of 'O Mágico'

Philippe Coutinho had impatiently waited, and it was finally time. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers pulled out a letter in the home dressing room on April 13 last year, with Manchester City occupying the opposite quarters, and revealed the words he was about to read were penned by the Brazilian's mother.
That was to be the last communication the players heard before taking to the Anfield turf, an unconventional approach, but one that had inspired the side to an unexpected and riveting Premier League run.
"I was so anxious for it to be my turn, for the manager to read the letter from my Mum," Coutinho admits to CNN Sport. "I waited and waited for it. The manager had spoken to the mothers of every player in the team, he'd been reading a message before every game for months and finally my turn had come."
It is a miserable May afternoon at Liverpool's Melwood training ground, the sky clouded a dark shade of grey, drenching those below with stubborn showers.

Jose Mourinho's "dear enemy" breached his Chelsea team's defense in a poignant Stamford Bridge farewell Sunday but it was not enough to give Liverpool the victory it needed to keep its Champions League hopes alive.
Steven Gerrard, leaving Anfield for Los Angeles Galaxy at the end of the season, headed a first half equalizer in the 1-1 draw and was given a standing ovation from all sides of the ground as he was substituted after the break.
Mourinho had paid fulsome tribute to the former England captain in the pre-match build up and revealed he had tried to sign the star midfielder while managing in his first spell at Chelsea and later at Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
It was a love match which was to prove unfulfilled and with Chelsea wrapping up the EPL title last weekend, Mourinho did not begrudge Gerrard his one last moment in the big-time limelight.
Gerrard returned the compliment in the post-match interviews. "I have huge respect for him. He's the best manager in the world in my opinion," he said.
"I would have signed for him on three occasions if I wasn't such a big Liverpool fan. He's the reason my head was turned on a couple of occasions but he knew why I couldn't do it, because I love Liverpool Football Club. It always means more when you win for your people."
